2 Trucker's Chapels
Located at the BP Truck Stop on I-30 and Loop 245 and Mandeville exit at I-30 The Flying J Truck Stop 23 chaplains provide Sunday church services in the chapels and are avaiable through the week to minister to the drivers' needs.
The Trucker's Chapel has served as a "bright Light" against the dark sky of the world, drawing people to the unadulterated truth of the Gospel of grace by pointing them to Jesus Christ. Through the service at the chapel, God's Holy Spirit encourages his people to lift their eyes from their circumstance and focus on praising the one who has the ability to provide grace and comfort to all who are hurting and lonely.
As I think back through 2005, I am humbled by God's faithfulness. By His guidance, the Trucker's Chapel has been placed in a very strategic position. He has given us the opportunity to make a huge difference in our world today. God is literally using this ministry to change people all over the United States and Canada.
It is always enjoyable to talk about events and vision of the Truckers Chapel. However, for me it all comes back to the people coming into the chapel seeking encouragement and hope. My friend, this is the essence and focus of the Trucker's Chapel to bring people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and help them grow as a Christian and give encouragement. Through your help and prayers, the Trucker's Chapel has been a bright light to a hurting and broken world.
There has been many challenges as God has continued to bless the ministry of the Truckers Chapel. What a great year this has been. He keeps on bring us more chaplains to help in this ministry. He has something great in store for the Texarkana Truck stop ministry. The chaplains are excited about the challenge set before them. We currently have 23 chaplains on board, 1 assistance chaplain and 1 junior chaplain.
Through out the year, the chaplains were there in the hot and cold days for the drivers and for the people who were driven from Louisiana and Texas to flee hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Even when the wind was rocking the trailer of the chapel, they wanted to be there to pray and counsel with whoever needed help.
NOW for the great news of what God has done. There have been 10 professions of faith in the Lord in the last twelve months at the chapel. We do not know how many rededicated their lives to Jesus Christ. What a great God we serve. All of the chaplain feel unworthy to be a part of the great move of God. Our dream is to see more chapels in the Texarkana area.
This is the Lord's work and we want to thank you for the opportunity to serve in this ministry. Thank you for all the tapes, Bibles, and your prayers. You are always welcome to come and see first hand what the chapel is all about. It will touch your heart and will make you feel different about this work. May God bless you indeed.
Your Servant,
